Through this program, I was able to grow personally by learning how to survive independently and adapt to foreign cultures. Traveling in another country by myself is something I never thought I would be able to do. I was able to meet many amazing people and grow socially as I made friends through Pitt as well as friends from other schools and countries. I was able to prove to myself that I could travel and spend a long period of time by myself. Living in another country also gave me a culture shock as I was not used to the lifestyle in Spain or Morocco. Having to adjust to this lifestyle taught me more about how other societies work and how I can learn to be like them. I was also able to grow professionally as I made many connections to other healthcare groups and professors from the university. By learning about other healthcare systems, my knowledge on health has increased and I feel more confident in my skills. Overall, this experience has made a huge difference in me personally and professionally.
