Healthcare Differences: U.S, Spain, Morocco

As my study abroad in Malaga, Spain came to a close, I was able to learn a lot more about European and Moroccan health care systems. The differences between the different economic health models between the U.S, Spain, and Morocco are entirely different relating to the idea of universal healthcare, finances, and stigma surrounding certain medications. I plan on using the various healthcare techniques used in these countries, such as healthier diets, focus on environmental health, and easier access to healthcare, to help promote better health in the U.S. As I further my academic career in pharmaceuticals, I plan on keeping these ideas in mind as I try to help other patients and innovate better healthcare practices to maximize universal health. Being able to travel to another country and gain in-person experience in medical centers and by communicating with others has given me skills an ordinary classroom could not. I hope to bring these skills to Pitt as I further my education and work on building my career.
