Hello! My name is Dominic Spatola, and I am a rising junior and a computer engineering major. I am also pursuing a minor in economics and a certificate in innovation, product design, and entrepreneurship. I am interested in discovering how new forms of digital technology can change the design process.
Outside of classes, I am the upcoming workshop chair for the school chapter of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers as well as the vice president of the PA Lambda chapter of Tau Beta Pi. I am also involved with the school chapter of Habitat for Humanity and Recreational Climbing Club. Outside of academics, I like going to the gym and cooking.

This trip will allow me to merge my engineering and business knowledge in the real world. I also took four years of German in high school but never had the chance to go abroad to the coronavirus pandemic. Now, I have the chance to gain a different understanding of German culture as well as analyze it through what I learn in college.
I hope to gain a better understanding of how to use my current major as a force to optimize industries and to work globally. I also hope to gain a more nuanced appreciation for the world since it is my first time leaving North America. Finally, I hope to augment my German knowledge around what I currently learn at Pitt.
