Ciao! My name is Emma Nasuti, and I am a rising junior here at the University of Pittsburgh. I am pursuing a Neuroscience major, as well as minors in Chemistry and Italian, and a certificate in Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s studies. In the future, I plan to continue studying neuroscience and contribute to the growing field of research.
In a week, I will be in the beautiful city of Florence with the Pitt in Florence program. I look forward to learning about the rich culture and history of Italy, and I am excited to take an art class as well! As a STEM major, I don’t always have time to explore my artistic interests here during the school year, so I am thrilled to have the opportunity to do so in a city known for its art.
I also hope to improve my fluency in the Italian language while abroad. My dad was born in Italy and emigrated here as a kid, so I grew up surrounded by the language and culture. I feel a strong connection with my Italian heritage and family, and I hope to be able to speak with them in Italian when I get back!
Overall, I am very excited about this trip and grateful that I will have this unique opportunity. I have a passion for travel, and I cannot wait to learn about different cultures and try new foods while living abroad.
I look forward to sharing my stories!
– Emma
