Hi! My name is Emily and I am a rising third year study Actuarial Mathematics with a minor in Information Science. On campus, I am in Gamma Iota Sigma, the actuarial mathematics club, where I network with and learn from other actuaries, and I play on two intramural sports teams. In my free time, I enjoy trying new restaurants and going to the gym with my friends.

This may, I will be participating in a Food Studies Program in Rome, Italy. In Rome, I will be taking Anthropology of Food and Gender and Politics of Food. I chose this program because I have always had a passion for trying new foods and learning about Food Production. I am extremely interested in the differences in production of food, types of food, and dining experiences between different countries.

I have been here for a couple of days and have loved every minute of it. I love how in Italy, every time you dine, it is an experience, even if it is just a quick cup of coffee. I am so excited for what the rest of this trip has in store for me and how much knowledge about food production I will gain from our trips to the mozzarella farm and chocolate factory!
