Daniel is Adventuring to Vietnam

on

Hello everybody! I am Daniel Cooper and a rising sophomore in Chemical Engineering. I also am planning on getting a minor in Electrical Engineering. I am from the suburbs of Cincinnati with three siblings, four step siblings, three cats, and a dog. A major factor in my decision to come to Pitt was the plethora of study abroad opportunities provided here, so I am very excited to be a part of one so soon. My hobbies include camping, hiking, and spending time with friends, so this summer I plan on working at the Boy Scout high adventure base, Northern Tier, to guide trips into the Boundary Waters.

This is because I enjoy exploring the beauty of the world, which is also why I chose Vietnam. Trips to Europe and Central America are easier to pull off later in life, but I knew that a trip to Vietnam would be harder to get a group for, so I put Vietnam as my first choice. And when I heard that we would be touring the Mekong Delta, I knew I had to go. Aside from exploring the country, I want to see how business and companies operate in a different country with a different political system. I also think it is important to have a global mindset in the workforce, because you can make more informed and aware decisions.
