Hi everyone! My name is Elayna Kinmartin and I just completed my second year of nursing school at The University of Pittsburgh. I will be leaving in a few weeks to study abroad in Dublin, Ireland at the Trinity College. I am so excited for this opportunity to learn more about Ireland’s healthcare system and midwifery!

I am very interested in women’s health and am leaning towards becoming a labor and delivery nurse, which makes this program a perfect fit for me. I will have the honor of learning about midwifery while on this trip and will be participating in clinicals at the local hospital. Not only will I learn so much on this trip, but I will also receive hands on experience to help strengthen my skills!

One of my top values is traveling. I have traveled a lot with my family since I was young and it has taught me numerous lessons. I love learning new cultures and traditions and making new friends. I hope to learn more about the Irish culture and become fully emerged in it! I think part of being a good nurse is understanding different cultures and backgrounds. This trip will help do that by widening my knowledge! I also love dancing and music which is very big in Ireland and activities I hope to engage in after hours of the program. I am so grateful to have this opportunity and I can’t wait to share more with you all!
