My takeaways from my study abroad program in Spain come in the form of new friendships and incredible memories. Over the course of this trip, I have traveled alone for the first time, used my second language more than my first, and studied history from a different perspective. The importance of transferrable skills has been emphasized throughout my education, and I know I will be able to use my strengthened independence, empathy and communicational skills, and critical thinking in my future. 

During this program, I recieved the most support from my peers. The professors were easily accessible and helpful if the need arose, and outside of academics, the other students in the program formed a tight-knit group. We took classes, explored, traveled, occasionally got homesick, but most of all, we had fun together. I could not have spent my time in Spain with a better group of friends!

To future Frederick Honors College students looking to study abroad, I cannot recommend it enough. At the beginning of this program, I was nervous to be far from home and unconfident with the language. Luckily, I underestimated myself. Studying abroad taught me that I am capable in practice as well as theory, and that I know more Spanish than I thought I did! Studying abroad was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I highly recommend it to any and all prospective travelers.
