Prisha’s Going to Lisboa!

Hello all! My name is Prisha, and I am majoring in Psychology and am part of the Honors College. The end goal is to become a Clinical Psychologist.

Studying abroad was always something I wanted to do, but I had no idea how to make it happen. I was thinking about finding programs through different companies, but then I found the Pitt Global Experiences page. There were so many opportunities on there, but the one that drew me in the most was the Internship in Lisbon. I thought it would be so cool to be able to make connections with locals and see how the workplace operates in comparison to the United States.

One challenge I expect to face is the language barrier. I started to learn some Portuguese when I got into the program, but I am nowhere near fluent. Through this experience, I hope to be able to hold simple conversations and be able to order at cafes and restaurants. Also, I want to immerse myself in the culture by going to festivals and finding places that locals like hanging out in.

Overall, I am beyond excited for this opportunity to live in a brand-new city and explore all of Portugal. See you on my next post!
