WOW! Diversity Rampant in Berlin

My first wow moment in Berlin was when I went to different cultural hotspots for food and shopping and almost everyone was confidently speaking many different languages. This gives an insight into the school structure/ curriculum of Berlin skill systems where they are constantly being encouraged to learn about other cultures and languages. This taught me just how different the Berlin school system is in comparison to the American school system as here in the US, we are encouraged to learn one or two other languages but it’s not very common, whereas in Berlin it was highly common for waiters, professors, tour leaders, cashiers, etc.. to speak 2 or 3 languages other than their own. Additionally, in libraries this was also seen as there were books in a plethora of languages from different points in history, again pointing into how culturally diverse and language driven Berlin is.
