Hi everyone! My name is Bryn McCall and I just finished up my junior year at Pitt as a Natural Sciences major on the pre-physician assistant track. With a quick turnaround from a busy finals season, I’m on my way to begin the Comparative Healthcare in Graz program! I’ve been hoping to be a part of this study abroad experience since freshman year and I am ecstatic to be able to be involved.

My classes at Pitt have been wonderful so far, but I’m so excited to experience such an immersive and hands-on learning experience. What drew me most to this program was the combination of engaging class lectures with excursions and activities as a group, fully immersing us in the cities of Graz and Maribor. We’re also lucky enough to travel to Salzburg and Vienna on the weekends, continuing our comprehensive tour of Austria. I can’t think of a more enticing country to visit than Austria with its rich culture, gorgeous landscapes, and inviting ambiance. Not only are Austria and Slovenia wonderful countries to visit, but this program aligns perfectly with my personal and professional interests.

I hope to learn as much as I can from the professors, classmates, Austrians and Slovenians that I meet along the way. This program has so much to offer and I hope to soak up as much as I can. Traveling all the way to Europe alone and seeing so many new places will be a great opportunity to strengthen my independence and learning as a student. Deepening my knowledge of the healthcare system we interact with will make me a much better healthcare professional in the future. I am very appreciative to be able to attend such an amazing experience. I’ll continue as the program progresses!
