Before arriving in Florence, I only knew my friend Gianna. I have always been extroverted when it comes to meeting new people, so I was not necessarily worried about making friends. What I did not expect, though, was to meet the most amazing people.
Every person I have met throughout this experience has been so friendly and kind. One thing I noticed is how each person in this program is extremely easy to travel with and make plans with. Traveling to different countries every weekend gets exhausting, but the friends I have made here make these trips feel like a breeze. I am so grateful to have met such amazing people, and it has been such a positive aspect of my semester abroad!
My professors have also been such an amazing part of this experience. My Italian professor, Jenny, goes out of her way to make our class engaging and interesting. I value how she has not only taught us the language, but also the customs and way of life in Italy. It has definitely made this experience easier for me, knowing how to live like an Italian.
I am grateful that I chose to do a Pitt program because that means I will see all of my new friends next semester! Although I am sad to leave Florence, it makes it easier knowing that the connections I made here will be lifelong friendships!
