During our last week of Wyoming, we went to the states rodeo which was an interesting experience. It was indeed a culture shock seeing the young calves getting ties up by lassos while trying to run away. Seeing them yanked by their necks and slammed to the ground was an uncomfortable feeling but slowly became entertaining. Even though the was jarring at first on ranches this is how they would normally catch cows and isn’t harmful to them at all. It was a real interesting difference on the treatment of animals. In Pittsburgh I’ve never been to a rodeo none the less seen anything like it there. Even though Pennsylvania has some farming lands its culture with it isn’t as advertised nor common especially in the city. It mostly taught me not to judge everything by first glance.
