Hannah’s Going to Copenhagen & Iceland

on

Hi! My name is Hannah Barton and I am a rising junior. I am pursuing a dual-degree in Environmental Science and Anthropology. I am from North Carolina and have greatly enjoyed my college experience so far exploring Pittsburgh. I am a member of Epsilon Eta Delta, the Environmental Honors Fraternity, and a part of the Ballroom Dance Club at Pitt. I absolutely love exploring and learning about the outdoors and greatly enjoy hands on activities. This is why I am extremely excited to participate in a study abroad program in Copenhagen and Iceland this summer.

I will be attending the DIS Glaciers and Climate change program. This is a three week course with two weeks in Copenhagen and one week in Iceland to perform field studies. I cannot be more excited to learn firsthand how and why climate change is occuring. The glaciers will additionally be fascinating to observe and analyze. Iceland has always been a bucket list destination of mine and I am so thrilled to visit while additionally gaining knowledge that is valuable to my major. Getting to explore copenhagen will be captivating as well. I cannot wait to immerse myself in Danish culture and participate in their daily routines. I’m also excited to meet new people and try new cuisines!

I am eager to read about everyone’s travels and thrilled to soon share my own!
