Meet Kristin Lucht!

Hi everyone!

My name is Kristin Lucht and I’m currently a junior majoring in Marketing and Global Management with a certificate in Leadership and Ethics. I’m from Princeton, New Jersey and on campus I’m a part of the Pathfinders organization, a student manager for Campus Recreation, an Intramural Basketball Supervisor, and a part of the Theta Phi Alpha social sorority. In the past, I’ve had the opportunity to intern for our Executive MBA program as well as hold a part-time summer internship for the International Society of Wheelchair Professionals, a local non-profit. This summer I will be moving to Phoenix, Arizona for 10 weeks to complete an internship with PetSmart working as their Customer Experience Integrated Marketing Intern.

At the moment, I’m studying abroad in Sydney, Australia with the CEA CAPA program here. I decided to choose this program for a number of reasons. Sydney is a big marketing hub which is very beneficial for me to be able to gain experience in a global setting. Having a global management major has made me particularly interested in the international side of marketing which makes this program even more opportunistic for me. With Australia being an English speaking country, it is very easy to notice differences in every marketing material from newspapers to TV commercials. I also see Australia as a very unique study abroad opportunity that not many people do, and I wanted to have a study abroad experience that would set me apart as a future job candidate.

One of my personal goals of this experience is to really step outside of my comfort zone in order to grow more. Even doing this program is definitely stepping outside of my comfort zone, so I am hoping to build off of that while in Australia and take full advantage of being here. Another personal goal I have is to explore all of the new cultures here and in all the places I travel to while here. I want to do this so I can expand my cultural awareness.

Academically, my main goal is to connect all of the things that I learn in my classes to new situations I will be in while here. Since I am in a new country, I am inevitably going to see and experience many new things, and connecting course content will make them even more meaningful.

As for what I’d like to achieve professionally while here, I really want to hone in on my skill to adapt to new and fast changing environments. Only being in Australia for 12 weeks means I am going to have to settle in quickly and be ready to acclimate myself to any new conditions given the short time I have which will help me build this skill.
