GBI: London

I am participating in Global Business Institute: London, so my host city is London. It is one of the oldest cities in the world; its history goes back almost two millennia, and one of the most cosmopolitan. By far, the largest metropolis in the UK, it is also the economic, transport and cultural center of the country. I was coming from a small city in Russia where not much happened, so when I first set foot into this busy, chaotic, colourful and vibrant city I thought it was love at first sight. London is a global and diverse city. The bustling nightlife in Soho, exciting shows in the West End, the powerful atmosphere of the City of London, the majestic architecture of Westminster, crazy shops and strangely dressed people in Camden Town, the RouteMaster (traditional London bus)… there was something special about this place.

There’s enough to do in London to last a lifetime. From cultural and culinary attractions to concerts, festivals and exhibitions, the city offers many opportunities to indulge and explore. London is a city of constant change. You are never bored. There is good and bad, beautiful and ugly, brilliance and refinement, but also modest and restrained. There is an opportunity to get to wherever you want. And it doesn’t matter whether you live in London or on a vacation everyone deserves a little sparkle in their life from time to time.

I live near Warwick Avenue. It is a London Underground station in Little Venice in the City of Westminster in northwest London. Little Venice, with its beautiful canals and waterways, is located north of Paddington. Located where the Grand Union and Regent’s Canals converge, this picturesque area is home to quaint coastal cafes, cozy pubs and charming restaurants. There’s plenty to do in this charming area of London, from canal boat rides to puppet shows.

I live in a three bedroom and two bathroom apartment. I have five roommates, so everyone lives in a double room. If you really enjoy socializing with your roommate, every night has the potential to be epic. Whether you party at home or head out for the evening together. That’s what we do. One of the main disadvantages of London is that it is a very expensive city. The closer you are to the center, the more expensive it gets. London is the sixth most expensive location to live in the world. Overall, I would definitely say that I enjoy being here, I enjoy London’s atmosphere.
