London Bound!

on

Hi everyone!

Welcome to my blog — an unofficial diary of my journey navigating an international internship and studying abroad in London.

To introduce myself briefly, I’m a rising junior from Annapolis, MD majoring in Finance and Business Information Systems, with a minor in Korean, and a certificate in International Business. Outside of academics, I’m involved in various student organizations, including Women in Business, Asian Student Alliance, and Alpha Kappa Psi. I am also a Pitt Pathfinder (a campus tour guide) as well as a Global Ambassador for the Pitt Business Global Experiences Office. As you can probably tell, I have a lot of interests and like to keep myself busy.

Though I wear many hats in my day to day life, at the center of it all is my love of learning. This plays out in every aspect of my life (personally, academically, and professionally). I always strive to challenge myself to try new things because ultimately, that is the pathway to learning and growing.

When it came to deciding what to do with my summer, I immediately knew I wanted to go abroad because my Maymester experience in The Netherlands last year was one of the greatest learning experiences of my life. When I looked into this ambition further, I saw that I could go a step further than I had in my previous abroad experience through the Global Business Institute that would not only allow me to live like a local in London, but also to study international finance in an international setting, and gain professional work experience while abroad. With this experience, I will gain cultural competency, be exposed to new perspectives, and truly experience what I learn in school beyond just textbooks.

I can’t wait to be met with challenges along the way and I hope to return from London as a more developed version of myself with a collection of unforgettable stories to tell for the rest of my life.
