I have learned so much my first couple days in Germany! I was beyond surprised at how welcoming and accommodating this city was and I felt like I fit right in. The hardest adjustment would be the time zone difference but I started to get the hang of it by Day 3. We had visited the Technical University of Berlin and got to meet so many influential and inspiring leaders in bioscience! I have had the opportunity to ask so many questions to aid me in the progress of my project.
School aside, I have tried so many new things like advanced public transport in a foreign language as well as new foods! The sausage and gravy here are delicious but make sure that if you see a strawberry stand called “Karl’s” that you stop by! Best advice, check out the Atlas Obscura website for places you might be interested in visiting. I visited Neurotitan in the photo above. No photos were allowed inside but I recommend going if you like art and graffiti!
