A Scenic Farewell to Belfast

I’m back home after being in Belfast, Northern Ireland. I have been reflecting on the places I visited and the experiences I had throughout this study abroad program. Although the trip was different from what I expected, it still provided an opportunity to learn about Northern Ireland’s history and culture.

As the trip came to a close, one of the highlights was exploring the Antrim Coast. It was a bright and sunny day which made the scenery even more memorable since the weather is often cloudy and rainy in Northern Ireland. Visiting the Giant’s Causeway and Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge allowed me to see a different side of the country beyond the city we had spent much of our time studying. The coastline and the mountains made the final day of the trip stand out.

Overall, this experience gave me a clearer understanding of Northern Ireland, but it also showed me that being on a study abroad program can be different from what you expect going in. It still allowed me to see new places firsthand.
