Hi! My name is Kennedy Aderogba, and I am a business major triple majoring in Business Information Systems, Business Analytics, and Accounting. As someone who grew up in a rural town in Middle Tennessee, exposure to diverse cultures was limited. Now, as a student at the University of Pittsburgh, I’m surrounded by a wealth of opportunities to interact with people from all walks of life. This has sparked my desire to explore different cultures and gain new perspectives, which is why I’m excited to participate in Plus3 Vietnam.
Personal Growth: Embracing New Cultures
One of my main goals for the Plus3 program is to deepen my understanding of different cultures. Growing up, I rarely encountered people from backgrounds different from my own, but now that I attend a university that offers global opportunities, I’m eager to immerse myself in new environments. I have not been to Vietnam before, and I’m excited to dive into their traditions, customs, and daily lives. I believe that learning about culture first-hand will be far more enriching than reading about it online or in a textbook. I look forward to broadening my horizons and gaining a deeper appreciation for the similarities and differences that exist across countries.
Professional Growth: Exploring Business Opportunities
On the academic front, I plan to use my Plus3 experience to explore which aspects of business resonates most with me and to identify the degree or specialization that aligns best with my career aspirations. This program will also offer the opportunity to interact with professionals and peers from around the world, helping me gain a clearer sense of what a future career in business might look like. Plus3 will allow me to strengthen my communication and interpersonal skills. Interacting with people from diverse backgrounds throughout the program will help me refine how I engage with others, a skill that will be invaluable in both my professional and personal life as I build relationships with people from all walks of life.
