Hello! My name is Eliana Goodman (she/her) and I am participating in the International Internship Program (IIP) in Prague, Czech Republic this summer. A little bit about me: I am a rising senior at the University of Pittsburgh in the College of Business Administration and the Frederick Honors College. I have a triple major in Business Information Systems, Marketing, and Supply Chain Management with a minor in Economics, a certificate in Data Analytics, and concentrations in IS Consultancy Practices and Project Management. I am originally from Cleveland, Ohio, and am a fan of their sports teams (yes, even the Browns). Further, I am passionate about intersectionality, sustainability, constantly learning and growing, entrepreneurship, leadership, and philanthropy.
This summer I will be participating in an 8-week internship program based in Prague in the Czech Republic, a historical place in the center of Europe that is basically untouched throughout the evolving history of the Eastern European geopolitical sphere. I am thrilled at the idea of being able to explore this historical place, to immerse myself completely in their language, culture, traditions, business practices, and more. The company that I will be interning at is PSA BDP, a global logistics and supply chain firm with a focus on sustainability, which is headquartered in Philadelphia, PA but has an office in Prague.
I selected this program as I have had the opportunity to participate in an international internship once prior, and that program and internship experience taught me a lot about myself and my values as I go into the working world. I hope that this internship will allow me to further decide what my post-graduate career will be as I have many passions and interests, which allows for many options but some analysis paralysis. Additionally, I am excited to learn from another international perspective as their business culture and way of life are completely different from the States, which is great for me to gain that perspective and take myself out of that geocentric way of thinking. I am excited to go on this program and this journey in my life because I can explore the city and culture, fulfill my academic pursuits, broaden my horizons, and grow professionally and most importantly, personally.
