Hallo everyone!
My name is Yuktasree Pinisetti and I am a rising senior on the Pre-Dental track. I’m majoring in Biological Sciences with dual minor in Chemistry and Neuroscience and a certificate in Conceptual Foundations of Medicine. I plan to attend dental school after I graduate in hopes of becoming a dentist! In my free time, I love to play tennis with my friends, enjoy nature, play with my guinea pigs, cook and watch TV shows. I’m a big fan of The Office, Friends, Stranger Things, and Bridgerton. At Pitt, I currently am an undergraduate researcher for Dr. Almarza’s lab in the dental school. I’m involved in the Dental Science Club, Hindu Student Council, to name a few clubs.
This weekend, I will be on my way to Graz, Austria! Embarking on this journey to study abroad in Austria and Slovenia, through the Comparative Healthcare in Graz program is a decision I made in both curiosity and purpose. This unique opportunity allows me to immerse myself in an international environment where healthcare and policy diverge significantly from the United States. I chose the Comparative Healthcare in Graz program because it offers a unique blend of interdisciplinary learning that aligns perfectly with my academic and professional goals. As someone interested in healthcare, the idea of comparing healthcare systems in Austria and Slovenia really appealed to me. I’m excited about the chance to visit hospitals, care homes, and meet professionals in the field, which I believe will give me valuable insights into healthcare delivery and policy. I’m truly grateful to be a recipient of the Martinson Elevate Award as it made this once in a lifetime opportunity possible for me.
I’m excited to expand my horizons and learn about different cultures while gaining a deeper understanding of global healthcare. Europe has always been a dream destination for me, and I can’t wait to immerse myself in its rich tapestry of history and culture. Academically, I want to improve my knowledge of healthcare systems, focusing on how history and culture influence them. I would also like to add another language into my collection. Professionally, I hope to gain a well-rounded perspective that will help me make a positive impact in the healthcare field as it continues to evolve.
Stay tuned for future posts, where I’ll share updates and insights from my journey as it unfolds!
Bis später 🙂
